Course Duration :
Bachelor of Music Degree – 6 Semesters (3 years)
Bachelor of Music Honours Degree – 8 Semesters (4 years)
Course Description :
The department seeks to impart music education of the highest quality possible in order to foster a creative, competitive and productive learning spirit among the students. The music curriculum aims to provide students with a strong musical foundation and effective musicianship and leadership skills so that they will be equipped to render professional and qualitative service in the field of music
Eligibility/Requirements
Class XII (or latest degree) passed with a minimum of 45% in any stream.
Applicants awaiting final results may also apply.
Basic music theory knowledge is required, including:
Major and minor scales
Key signatures
Intervals
Triads and inversions
Transposition
Meter and rhythm
Audition Requirements :
Applicants invited for audition and entrance assessment will be required to:
A. Perform two pieces
One prescribed piece from the audition repertoire provided by the School.
One piece of the applicant’s own choosing, classical in style.
B. Sight-read a short musical excerpt.
C. Complete a listening test assessing pitch and rhythm skills.

Submit the completed application form along with the required supporting documents.
Eligible applicants will be invited for an audition and entrance assessment.
Selected applicants will receive an offer of admission.
The academic session will commence according to the Institute’s academic calendar.
