From the Principal’s Desk

Patkai Christian College was sponsored by two church bodies namely, Nagaland Baptist Church Council and Manipur Baptist Convention. It was established in the year 1974 in 1000 acres of land donated by Chümoukedima and Seithekema villages. Rev. Dr. Tuisem A. Shishak was the founding Principal of the college. Today, Patkai Christian College is a multidisciplinary higher education institution offering courses in Arts, Science, Commerce and Music with 16 academic departments at the undergraduate level of study and 6 postgraduate departments. 


In addition to imparting education in various disciplines, the college lays special emphasis on personality development and towards realizing the full potential of each and every student. The students are provided with ability enhancement education and various essential life skill courses in a student centric and friendly environment.

The college endeavours towards academic excellence, spiritual growth and physical development of each student. The main purpose of the college is to impart good quality education which will help the young people to lead a purposeful and meaningful life, and become an asset to the society and the church. Every year, over 40 different dialect speaking students from different states of India, including all the Northeastern states, take admission in the college. A few students come from other countries too.
